Police in Entebbe Division have launched investigations into a fatal road crash that claimed the lives of two Next Media employees, while another was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
The crash occurred in the early hours of Friday morning at Namulanda, near the Stabex fuel station along Entebbe Road. It involved a Toyota Allex, registration number UA 779DE, and a Toyota Hilux, registration number UAS 976W.
According to Traffic Police spokesperson SP Michael Kananura, the deceased have been identified as Badru Kasirye, a producer, and Isaac Ndamagye, both employees of Next Media. Brian “Makona” Ssemanda sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the Toyota Hilux, which was travelling from Entebbe towards Kampala, allegedly lost control while approaching the Stabex area at Namulanda and drifted into the opposite lane. The vehicle then collided head-on with the oncoming Toyota Allex.
Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndamagye died at the scene, while Brian “Makona” Ssemanda was taken to hospital in critical condition.
SP Kananura said the exact circumstances and cause of the crash remain under investigation.
In a statement, Next Media confirmed the accident, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, August 7, 2026, at Namulanda along Entebbe Road.
The company said Brian “Makona” Ssemanda is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under close observation by his medical team.
“We remain in direct contact with the hospital and will share updates on his condition as they become available,” the statement said.
Police extended condolences to the bereaved families, friends and colleagues of the deceased.
“As police, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the deceased and wish the injured victim a quick and full recovery,” SP Kananura said.
