EOC Mother Mary Church elevated to a parish status,120M fundraised for church building

The presiding Bishop for the Evangelical Orthodox Church (EOC) in Uganda Jacinto Kibuuka has officially elevated Mother Mary Church, Kagumu to a parish status and officially deployed Rev. Fr. Moses Lyomoki has its first Parish priest.

Mother Mary parish is found in Kagumu, Kibuku district and will be under the direct supervision of the office of the presiding Bishop in Uganda.

Bishop Jacinto Kibuuka urged Rev. Fr. Moses Lyomoki and the entire Clergy to use their calling to spread God’s gospel in truthfulness and to develop God’s people as opposed to exploiting them.

“In addition to skills development, you must do everything within your means to emancipate people with challenges which among others include poverty, diseases, ignorance, conflicts and violence as opposed to exploiting them.” Said Bishop Kibuuka

On the same ceremony, Bishop Kibuuka officially commissioned and launched the building of the Mother Mary Church which will have a sitting capacity of 2000 people.

Before the commissioning, Bishop Kibuuka first led the fundraising campaign which yielded Uganda Shillings 112 million. 12 million where in cash while 100 million are in pledges.
