Jinja based Kiira FM staffs petition Labor office over salary arrears and unpaid NSSF

By Mukose Arnold Anthony

Over 20 Jinja city based 88.6 Kiira FM staffs have filed a complaint with the area labor office over uncleared four years arrears and unpaid NSSF.

Their complaint comes at a time when the station management notified the same office over their forthcoming restructuring which they hadn’t communicated to the staffs. This raised more dust and added salt to the injury.

The complaint letter seen by this website indicates that the labor office has received the journalists’ complaint, however, out of over 20 journalists, only 13 have appended their signatures as the 7 are still in fear of penning down their signatures.

Speaking to one of the station managers whose Identity is withheld, he confirmed that he heard about the petition but he was yet to receive an official one thus he can’t divulge into details.

By press time, Our efforts to get a comment from the directors were futile since 3 of the known directors didn’t pick our calls.

The affected journalists include; Kanyere Hakim, Mwagale Ali, Lubega Ivan- Editor, Mande Amuza-deputy editor,  Magoola Geoffrey aka Ragga Mountain, Buyinza Ronald-sports presenter, Ntambi Shamiru, Lukakamwa David -talk show host, Mukungu Haruna-talk show host , Mubugumya Shaminah, Mulumba Ben, Seremba Fred Naluswa and Mayengo Geoffrey.
