UMA partners with microfinance support center to register, develop all Musicians

By Kabuye Ronald

Uganda Musician Association (UMA) has partnered with the Uganda microfinance support center to enable them recruit, mobilize, organize and register Musicians countrywide.

While unveiling the project at Piato hotel Thursday afternoon, UMA acting president Cindarella Sanyu alias Cindy Baibe and secretary General Phina Mugerwa Masanyalaze said the national wide campaign will take two weeks and will be held in every district.

Mugerwa says they aim at sensitizing and organizing musicians for development, proper planning and funding

.

“We want to give hope to all musicians and strengthen them financially countrywide through sensitizing and uniting them, and properly planning for them.

Many people have defrauded various institutions masquerading to be acting on the Musicians behalf and now it’s time to get rid of such individuals through mobilizing, registering and organizing.” said Mugerwa

In the same way Joseph Tukamushaba who represented the executive director of Microfinance support center urged the association to strive at creating trust within their members.

He urged them to mobilize all musicians from all spheres, regions, tribes and genre since that will give the music industry and country honour.

Tukamushaba added that their role in the project is to develop the musicians though he declined to reveal the much injected into the project.
