Why Kibuli based supreme mufti sheikh Kasule Ndirangwa has resigned

By Mukembo Wilfred

The Kibuli based Supreme Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Silman Kasule Ndirangwa has resigned.

Sheikh Kasule Ndirangwa who didn’t divulge in details said he doesn’t want to conflict with the elders in the community.

Without giving details he also told reporters in a night short address that he does not want to be the hindrance to the operations of the Islamic faith.

He however urged leaders who are set to take up his office to work towards the unity of the Muslim community that has been divided in factions in the recent past.

The Supreme Mufti was leading the Kibuli faction of Muslims who disagreed with the old Kampala Mufti Of Uganda His Eminence Sheik Shaban Ramathan Mubajje who they accused of selling Muslim properties.

Ndirangwa replaced Sheik Zubair Kayongo on December, 16, 2015, following his death in April 2014 at Aga Khan Hospital. Mahmoud Kibaate and Sheikh Habib Kabasa were also elected as his deputy.
