Former journalists (UJA) president Robert Kagolo shot dead

Former Uganda Journalists Association and Star FM head of production and current affairs presenter Robert Kagolo has been shot dead on Thursday night.

Kagolo has been shot dead by the local defense unit (LDU) officer Mamuli Rashid at the home of his late brother Samuel Musitwe who was also abducted and murdered in Wakiso forest days back.

it is said that Kagolo had gone to his late brother’s home to hold a meeting with other relatives but unfortunately disarrangement ensued which led to reckless shooting by Mamuli

The news of his demise has been confirmed by the current UJA leadership on their official social media pages.

“We regret the sudden death of our ex-president and Star FM journalist Robert Kagolo who has been gunned down this evening.

The news coming in to us indicates that Kagolo was gunned in Kasengejje and later pronounced dead at St Joseph health facility in Wakiso upon arrival.” Read UJA post

Kagolo was at the helm of the journalists’ leadership from 2014 to 2018.

He has also been the proprietor of Pearl Education Center in Ganda Nsumbi, Nansana Municipality, wakiso district
