The presiding Bishop for the Evangelical Orthodox Church (EOC) in Uganda Jacinto Kibuuka has urged religious leaders to desist from the habit of exploiting Christians in the guise of God’s name but instead work for themselves alongside preaching and doing God’s work.
Bishop Kibuuka made the remarks on Sunday while ordaining four deacon at Mamre International Prayer Centre in Namugongo Janda who included: Rev. Jeviira Mugoda, Rev. Richard Kabagambe, Rev. Selevanus Sunday and Cyprian Draleke from EOC prayer centres of Kibuuku, Kiryandongo, Kyenjojo and Moyo districts respectively.

Bishop Kibuuka said he will not hesitate to expel lazy priests and deacons who turn into crooks in the Evangelical Orthodox Church as long as he is still the bishop.
“You have been chosen to serve people on God’s behalf at no cost so don’t turn into crooks like other religious leaders who have made it a habit to exploit followers of God. For us we don’t work for money or salary, we don’t serve satan, we don’t stage up miracles, we only serve God so once you get into those habits I will not hesitate to expel you. We only get the presence and power of God from the bible and the Holy Eucharist.
Don’t steal from people, don’t be crooks, God has chosen you to be His faithful servants, so go spread his good news, go and cast out demons and all evil spirits in Jesus’s name, go plant and build God’s kingdom in just and truthfulness. You shouldn’t solicit money from people in order to serve them on God’s behalf.” Bishop Kibuuka cautioned the ordained deacons

He also called upon them to avoid sin, to practice what they preach and to be for God forever by multiplying and developing God’s Kingdom so that Jesus Christ is known to the entire world hence He may save His people.
“Don’t bring pride in serving God, don’t exalt yourselves because we are God’ workers so its only Him who will reward us, don’t be lazy, work on your own to earn a living, don’t exploit people, me I work on my own so you also work on your own, never be beggars and don’t become thieves. “ said Bishop Kibuuka
He further urged them to be leaders in all aspects, to fast, to be prayerful, smart, organized and do kind things since its then God will work for them and the church at large.
Bishop Kibuuka further revealed that they have planted over 70 churches across the country and they are planting more.

Meanwhile being a mother’s day, Bishop Kibuuka used it to urge Women desist from the habit of aborting since children are God’s divine gift and hence nobody has a right to take away someone’s life.
He alluded to the fact that there is nothing like unwanted pregnancy because all pregnancies are from God.
He also applauded mothers who are genuinely and critically doing their noble role of raising up children in the Godly way before appealing to the fathers to take up their responsibilities of taking care of their families as opposed to abandoning them.
