President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed two justices to the court of appeal and five to the high court.
The appointments are contained in his letter to the Speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah, copied to the Chief Justice, Head of public service and secretary to cabinet, attorney general, ministry of justice and constitutional affairs permanent secretary and secretary to the judiciary written on the 13th august 2021.

The appointees to the court of appeal who are now awaiting parliament approval include: High Court Judge Luswata Kavuma Eva and deputy solicitor general Gashirabake Christopher while those appointed to the high court include Chemutai Tom, Lawrence Tweyanze, Wagona Vincent, Alice Komuhangi and Nakachwa Florence.
“ in exercise of the powers vested in the president by article 142(1) of the 1995 constitution, I have acting on the advice of the Judicial Service Commission, appointed persons listed as justices of appeal and judges of the High court.” President’s letter read in parts.
