President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on the 13th of August 2021 wrote to the speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah instructing him to vet the 2 justices of the court of appeal and five judges of the high court he appointed. Among appointed High court judge is the wife to the chief justice of Uganda Alfonse Owiny- Dollo, Nakachwa Florence Dollo.
Nakachwa Florence is not only a wife to Chief Justice Owiny-Dollo and a senior legal consultant at Owiny- Dollo legal services but also is the Deputy Director and in charge of academic matters at Law Development Centre.
She has been teaching at Law Development Centre since 1991. She rose through the ranks up to the current position of Deputy Director. She teaches Legal Writing skills, Legislative Drafting, Family Law & Practice, and Criminal Law.
Who are the other four appointed to High court?
Ms. Alice Komuhangi Khaukha,is the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Inspections, Quality Assurance, Research and Training
Wagona Vincent is the deputy director of public prosecution, Management and support services/ accounting officer.
Tom Chemutai he is servicing under the Judicial training institute but also served as the acting chief registrar between 2019 and 2020
Lawrence Tweyanze, is servicing as the registrar inspectorate of court but also served as the deputy registrar Supreme Court and acting registrar in the same court
The two Appointees to Court of Appeal.
Luswata Kavuma Eva is currently serving as a high court judge while Gashirabake Christopher is serving as the deputy solicitor general. He was once accused of sexual assault by Samantha Mwesigye the senior state attorney, who was fired but the industrial court were the matter was taken cleared Gashirabake.
