Gen Muhoozi; the new kid on the block

By Ndawula Ronald

You’re all aware of how King Solomon solved the puzzle of what seemed an impossible dilemma between two mothers over a baby in the olden biblical times when DNA was a myth.

It looked simple but imagine it had failed the leaders and judges of Israel till when King Solomon was brought in to arbitrate and finally find the true owner of the child.

The impasse between the two East African nations of Rwanda and Uganda which led to the closure of the borders of these sister nations was an embarrassment to the world and the citizens of the two countries.

The biggest issue between these two Presidents is inflated ego which has accumulated because of over stay, personalization of their countries and assumption of demigod status.

When I see the videos of the people of Rwanda celebrating the border opening and those Rwandeese in Uganda hiding their happiness in praising Gen Muhoozi I wonder for Pete’s sake why and if there was any reason for these two leaders and nations to become belligerent if not ego.

I knew from the time I saw Gen. Muhoozi attempting to be the best diplomat in the region and his return from his uncle in Rwanda and then back to his Dad in Rwakitula as a gimmick, because it didn’t even require signed protocols to end.

From this, I challenge Gen.Muhoozi to attempt pacify the rift between NUP and Gen Museveni because this seems more real than the rift between your father and your uncle  which looks like a stage managed family affair.

Gen Muhoozi provide a platform where political prisoners languishing in safe houses and kitalya on trumped up charges be released then you will be my Presidential candidate in 2026 and secondly you will be the Solomon of modern day Cwezi Empire.

Muhoozi this looks like you can do it. If you wish to win back and buy back the love your father has lost in Buganda, endeavor to be a peacemaker and you will write a new page in Uganda’s history and you will be the new kid on the block because we in Uganda easily forget.

Borrow a leaf from the neighboring countries where enemies are not crushed but they offer alternative ideas in national development.

You can also offer an Ambassadorial position to his Excellency Bobi Wine to quench his thirst to be our ambassador to the Ghetto and pay him.

Kenya has enemies but they’re not behind bars and Tanzania a Vice President can easily assume Presidency without hassles!

Let this be the new Uganda where opposition is not a crime, you will live to protect the Cwezi legacy and you will be acceptable to some of us who dont care whether you become a President or not.

Lastly, apologise to Kakwenza Rukirabashaija for the torture he went through and give him a few dimes for compensation and warn him not to do it again to save your face.

As Mahatma Gandhi rightly said, “The weak cannot forgive, forgiveness is an attribute of the strong.”

In this case forgive Kakwenza for the ridiculous, utterances that disturbed your peace.
