The Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon. Anita Among, has commended the Kabaka of Buganda, His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, for his unwavering dedication to transforming communities through various socio-economic initiatives.

Speaking during her communication in today’s plenary sitting, Speaker Among praised the Buganda Kingdom for its pivotal role in improving the welfare of its people, noting that its efforts serve as a model for other cultural institutions in the country.
“The remarkable contribution of the Kingdom of Buganda in bettering the lives of the masses is a lesson that other traditional and cultural institutions should emulate,” she said.

Her remarks come as the country joins the people of Buganda in celebrating the 32nd coronation anniversary of Kabaka Mutebi, who ascended the throne on July 31, 1993.
The Speaker also extended her appreciation to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the constitutional restoration of traditional institutions, including the Buganda Kingdom, which had been abolished in 1967 by then-President Dr. Milton Obote.

Speaker Among further conveyed felicitations to His Majesty Kabaka Mutebi on this milestone, wishing him continued good health and a long, impactful reign.
