Uganda free from Covid 19 third wave, more oxygen cylinders procured

By Jumah Kakomo

Ministry of health says the country is free from the third wave of Covid 19 pandemic.

The revelation has made by minister of health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, at the ministry headquarters Wandegeya Kampala while receiving 1,000 oxygen gas cylinders donated by the government of Denmark to Uganda worth USD 230,000 to continue fighting against covid 10 pandemic and other diseases.

Minister says, this is due to the positivity rate which is very low at 1%, and all over the country there is no district in situations of alert phase, but only few infections are in few areas, thus rallying Ugandans to keep being more vigilant and observing the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Aceng adds that, now the country has procured 7,000 oxygen gas cylinders which have been distributed to various government hospitals.

The government of Denmark through her ambassador to Uganda Nicolaj Hejberg Petersen said this is a 30th donation they have given Uganda as a country and they will continue doing it, thus appealing to other DCs to do the same to build strong and sustainable rapport.
