Archbishop Kaziimba, Bishop Kibuuka eulogize fallen speaker Oulanyah

By Kabuye Ronald

The Archbishop of Church of Uganda Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu and the presiding Bishop for the Evangelical Orthodox  Church in Uganda Jacinto Kibuuka have eulogized the good works of now the late, Speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah.

In his statement Kaziimba said Oulanyah was very committed to serving God and very generous.

“Oulanyah has been a member of our Church. He was very committed and generous.

Not long time ago, he brought 100M towards Church House debt clearance. He went ahead and mobilized members of Parliament to do the same and the responded positively.

We knew him as a man who wanted a fair and just society, a peace maker, a champion of dialogue and harmony.

We are comforted by our theme as Church of Uganda from Lamentations 3:21, that there is hope beyond affliction.

May the Lord comfort Uganda in this time of morning a great hero and friend of many.” Said Kazimba

In the same way Bishop Kibuuka said that the body of Christ and the country has lost an instrumental person who has done much in defending it and supporting it.

He said that Oulanyah has been a jolly, sarcastic, intelligent, friendly  person who supported the church in all ways possible and always pro-development before praying for his soul to rest in eternal peace

President Museveni on Sunday announced Oulanyah’s death on Twitter saying he was a good Cadre.
The now deceased Omoro County MP (Omoro District) was elected Speaker on May 24, 2021, after defeating Ms Kadaga. He served as Deputy Speaker of Parliament from May 2011 until May 2021.

He has also been the Vice president North in the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM)
