Mukose Jonathan Hosea retires after 15 years of great public service.

After almost 15 years in public service Town Clerk Mukose Jonathan has retired

He said”it’s now time for me to step down as I open doors for those who are still young and energetic. I have clocked 60 years which is the mandatory years for a public servant like to retire as per mandatory retirement standing orders.

“Thanks to the people of Uganda in the various parts of the country that I have served. Sharing with you has been a great achievement full of experience”

While addressing a group of leaders and civil servants of Mityana Municipality at the council chambers hall on Wednesday, Mukose said “I always tell my team that I am leader or civil servant who works in line with the president. One mistake done by one of the public servant is a mistake to all of us in the system. The president loves his people that’s why you and me where chosen to serve on his behalf. I urge you comrades that am leaving a system that delivers value service to the society, Duty driven, positively contribute to mind set just the way I have been.  

After his graduation in 1989, Mukose was appointed by  the office of the president, deployed in sebei Region Kapichorwa as a mass mobiliser under National movement Secretariat under the leadership of late Eria Kategaya .

He served in the office of the president in deferent capacities for 17 years.

In 2001 he was appointed head of department for interests groups at National Movement Secretariat up to in 2006 When Uganda has embraced multi-party democracy.

In 2007 he was deployed at the ministry of local government as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer CAO for Soroti district.

As a civil servant in local government Mukose has served in 8 districts which include Soroti, Sembabule, Bukedea, Kabale, Mukono ,Bugweri ,Karenga and Mityana Municipality where he has retired from as a town clerk.

Due to his great contribution and services he was awarded an Independence Medal, a medal awarded to nonmilitary officers who have greatly contributed to the development of post-independence Uganda by HE the president of Uganda in 2017 in Luwero district.

Mukose a son to late Mr and Mrs Mary Nakyire Mukose and Asita Luko Mukose , was born on 8th/Oct/1962 in  Namutumba district then part of greater Iganga, grew up in Bulange sub county.

He completed his primary level Education in 1978 at Madivan Primary School, sat for Ordinary level exams in 1982 at Busoga College Mwiri and then crossed to Ndejje s.s for A level in 1986 and obtained his bachelors in social sciences.

His exposure to the many opportunities started in 1988 after his first undergraduate training at National leadership institute in Kyankwanzi for cardre10. The training brought out the potential and resourcefulness in him which was embraced and utilized by the president’s office

In 1993, Mukose proceeded for a post graduate diploma in Public Administration at Uganda Management institute (UMI) and a certificate in law at Law development center (LDC) in 2006.

Mukose is married to Elizabeth Jane Mukanza Mukose and they are blessed with 3 children (sons)

Mukose a nonsense, workaholic man has been spending most of his time in the field after concluding his office work in the early morning hours.

People in Mityana where he has ended his duty tour have applauded him for being one of the best team leader local government is going to miss.

Godfrey Joseph Okumu a private teacher in Mityana   said “every one wonders the way Mukose does his work, he comes early and leaves late, many of the people in public service can’t manage that kind of time management. He loves proving to the public how much the governmentt cares about them, he treated workers equally. This man’ services are still much needed by the country.”

Mukose has been replaced by Mr. Mbiwa Samuel who has taken up office with immediate effect.
