Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed three new judges to the Supreme Court and one other to the appeals court.
President Museveni appointed Justices Christopher Madrama, Elizabeth Musoke and Stephen Musota to the Supreme Court.
In the same way, the president also appointed the National Resistance Movement NRM director for legal affairs Oscar Kihiika as justice of the Court of Appeal.
“In exercise of powers vested in the president by Article 142(i) of the Constitution, I have acting on the advice of the Judicial Service Commission appointed justices of the Supreme Court,” the instrument dated October, 31 reads in part.
The names have since been sent to parliament for vetting.
