The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has revealed that it will expeditiously formally to contact with the national coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho alias Salim Saleh seeking explanations on the note published in the media indicating that he was withdrawing all the support he has been rendering to Kampala Lord Mayor also FDC’s deputy president in charge of Buganda, Ssalongo Erias Lukwago.
On 4th January 2023 the New Vision published what Lukwago calls a false and defamatory headline in regard to the same note.
In the note allegedly written by Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho he did not mention the kind of support he has been giving to Lukwago over time but he asserts that he sponsors lukwago’s politic fight thus he is withdrawing all his support until he tenders in an apology.
However, Lukwago has since come out and stated that he has never received any support from General Salim Saleh who is also the younger brother to Uganda’s president Yoweri Museveni thus contending that the publication was malicious and has damaged his creditability and reputation.
Addressing the press at party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, Kampala, John kikonyogo the party deputy spokesperson noted that all is set to officially contact Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho to provide them with supporting evidence of his allegations.
Kikonyogo added that once the evidence is provided then the matter will be further handled by the party in accordance with its constitution to take the next step of action.
