Namuganza Censure: Parliament to commence investigations into her misconduct

By Hannah Marion Namukasa

The committee on Rules, Privileges and Discipline Committee will tomorrow January 12th commence investigations into the misconduct of junior minister Namuganza.

This was occasioned by a motion dated December 9th, moved by  Agago North County MP John Amos Okot to censure the minister after

more than half of the House  lined up a litany of accusations against the minister , which formed the basis for their resolve to kick her out.

Having been found   culpable of abuse of office in allocating the Naguru-Nakawa land to investors, Namuganza took to social Medi and made statements about Parliament attacking the operations of Parliament, questioning the powers of Parliament, the integrity of the presiding officers and imputing improper motive to Parliament and its presiding officers,an act that angered most of the legislators to append their signatures in support of casting out the errant Minister.

Over 300 legislators appended their signatures in support of the censure motion against the errant junior minister which further fueled the motion.

Parliament, chaired by the Rt Hon Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa set  23rd January, 2023, as the deadline to determine Namuganza’s fate over allegations leveled against her.
