The presiding Bishop for the Evangelical Orthodox Church in Uganda [EOC] Jacinto Kibuuka has urged women to be women of wisdom and good role models to not only the children but the nation as well.
Bishop Kibuuka who made the remarks while celebrating the women’s day at Mamre International Prayer Centre in Namugongo, Janda, Wakiso district said that the children and adults turn into what they are because of what they learned or copied from their mothers and women guardians thus its so crucial for the women to be women of wisdom, knowledge, courage, substance, morals, faith and hard workers who fear God and live their lives responsibly since every person learns from them.

“Women must be morally upright and righteous to be able to build morality among our children and so what is ought not to be done must be avoided by the women. Finding a mother that is a drunkard, lesbian, causing all kinds of conflicts at home and in society is not befitting.
Finding a mother that is a thief even in high political offices. We hear people including women stealing iron sheets, money from different government departments, its an absurdity for our mothers and the women of this country.

We therefore, urge women to be women of faith, courage and of great morals who always stand for righteousness so that we have a country that is morally upright but also a country that is owing and looking at development at large.” Said Bishop Kibuuka
Elgon North member of Parliament Hon. Nangoli Gerald who also attended the event said that for things to be organised there is always women involvement giving an example of homes with women.

Hon. Nangoli applauded the church’s women’ sacco for doing a tremendous job not only for the church but also for the nation as well since such projects help in financially empowering people before pledging to help it access government support especially from micro finance support center.

Christine Kajumba, the Chairperson of EOC organising committee urged women to give equal opportunities and good guidance to all the children male or female including those that are not their biological children.
She also urged women to involve themselves and embrace science, technology and innovation programs in addition to looking out for informative and knowledgeable stuff.

Mary Kyomugisha Onorio, the Chairperson of Janda Mamre Women’s Sacco which is the church’s Women’s sacco said that they are progressing well since a big percentage of the women in the Church have joined the Sacco and they are now giving out loans to the members at an interest of only 3%

Mary also said that they give out piglets to the women who are interested and have ability of rearing piglets and all that is done with a motive of boosting women financially and spiritually.
She further revealed that their objective is to become a micro finance bank in the near future.
