The Uganda People’s Congress UPC has advised Government on how handle the new trnd robbery that targets super markets, petrol stations, schools, mobile money outlets, religious worshiping, hardware shops and ambushing of road users especially on Northern by Pass at night leading to loss of lives, property and severe injuries.

Addressing a weekly press conference, the party spokesperson Arach Oyat Sharon said that the thieves are not only strangers, but part and parcel of our societies thus it calls for continuous community policing and restoration of public trust that enhances close working relationship.
Arach Oyat says that the Government has to offer special security to all our learning institutions and help them build capacity that can be relied on.
“This calls for total upgrade of total security such as wall fencing, installation of security cameras in key strategic areas and digital finger print registration. Some of these strategies applies to worshiping places as well.” Said Arach Oyat
UPC also wants the government to make special arrangements for religious institutions to survey their properties free of charge and work out the best means to secure their protection from land grabbers and encroachers.

In the same way, Muzeyi Faizo, the Head of Media and Communications at UPC also called upon Government through the Ministry of Health to carry out more awareness activities on Tuberculosis (TB) disease including holding free of charge camps of all TB related examinations and treatment as a supplement to government heath outlets.
The public is also encouraged to ensure routine medical tests for TB and other diseases in case of any signs.
Last Friday, 24th March 2023, the world commemorated Tuberculosis (TB) Day with a theme, Yes We Can End TB Disease
