Growing up seeing black hair turn grey, stress lines running across my face, unravels insight to a great many issues pertaining to our lives and appreciating how nature unfolds its many secrets every passing day.
I am a kin observer of leading personalities since I joined politics trying to admire best practices, raising caution fingers, saluting memorable speeches and trying to foretell what is sustainable and possible under certain circumstances.
President Museveni and I share the same Zodiac sign on the horoscope as we are both Virgos.
Much as we have alot in common like magnanimity, empathy and self-sacrifice, we differ a lot when it comes to patience and this is his strongest trait in addition to his pointed focus, shrewdness and an astute Operator.
When you turn back the clock to analyze his actions under very challenging times like when fighting Idi Amin and Obote you realize how much in patience and waiting for the right time benefited his many errands.
First of all, when Museveni identified his goal of leading Uganda he realized he had to pay the price to prepare for the big goal by first of all making allies or a ‘master mind group’ of people with similar goals. He escaped to exile, joining the army, training and experiencing with other freedom fighters in (Forelimb) Mozambique.
This was not a mean feat for a young man in his thirties!
As they say, ‘luck favors the brave and bold’, Amin fell out with President Nyerere of Tanzania who was also in position to finance Musevenis dream in terms of logistics and manpower to overthrow Field Mashal Amin.
Museveni was the most prepared person after the overthrow but he was the most insignificant figure and his appointment to Miniter of defence according to him was negotiated by Muwalimu Julius Nyerere the President of Tanzania who had already noticed his contribution, sacrifice and potential when he asked the interim government what have you arranged for my young man Yoweri Museveni?
Fighting Amin and Obote took Museveni approximately 15 years and innumerable defeats, betrayals, disloyalty of wary and impatient teams!
Other parallel operators like Kayiira and Nkwanga who rushed to finish ended up losing everything and Musevenis patience is still paying off up-to-date.
Hon Kyagulanyis’ rush to dislodge Mpuuga is okay on moral grounds but he needed some bit of patience to consolidate alliances for the big goal.
All NUP Members of Parliament don’t qualify or should be recalled if we base on the ‘truth’ challenge Hon. Kyagulanyi floated at a burial in Kakiri yesterday because some NUP MPs even have pass to access State house every midnight.
If Hon. Kyagulanyi insists on the truth he better try starting a church like Bugingo, Pastor Kakande and Serwadda not politics because he will soon be like Uganda which passes the impossible homoxetuality law and can’t sustain itself without the homos and will reverse or repeal it soon.
Uganda is one country where if you’re standing on truth you will be left in oblivion wondering, like when Jesus challenged the crowd which sought to stone a promiscuous woman in the New Testament.
They all run away one by one until the woman was cleared to go and sin no more by Jesus.
Mr Kyagulanyi should also know that many of his colleagues have their own peculiar dreams by staying in Opposition other than being President of Uganda like him.
Some want to win school fees for their families others are fortune seekers and others are motivated by pride got from being called Honourable yet they are dishonorable like Sekabira Dense who is there to protect his various criminal manoeuvres.
Imagining that everyone is interested in dislodging Musevni from his seat is like hunting with hyenas, thinking , since they’re aggressive about meat they will have your best interest, yet for them its alwys for their stomachs.
Making precipitous decisions in public offices is very dangerous as you’re bound to cut down the tree you’re sitting on or kill a goose that lays golden eggs.
I don’t qualify to advise Hon.Kyagulanyi but am a freelance observer who enjoys sharing my thoughts because they are free and the phone is mine.
