As the entire nation awaits to celebrate the Uganda Martyrs’ Day on 3rd June, 2023, Uganda People’s Congress has urged all Christian faithful to pray for Uganda which is undergoing numerous threats ranging from economic hardship, gun violence, cultural and moral erosion across the country.

UPC wants the entire citizenry to reflect on the kind of Uganda they would want in terms of sustainable service delivery and growth on both personal and national development which calls for the fight against corruption as well as building our faith in the way the Martyrs lived to be able to be persistent and bold to fight for what they believed in even if it costed them their lives.
UPC applauded THE Christian faithfuls and the church leadership for careful choice of this year’s theme, “United for sustainable service and growth”, which was derived from Ephesians 4:11-16.
UPC through its spokesperson Arach Oyat Sharon also condoled with the Government, UPDF and the respective families of the injured and fallen soldiers in Somolia.
UPC is also optimistic that solving of the Somali question on violence will come to an end soon.
On the Issue of Bukedea Local Council 5 by elections, UPC said that they will field a candidate in the Bukedea LC 5 by-election.

“As a Party we call upon the Party Leadership and members of Bukedea District to massively mobilize and form ad hoc committees at every branch structure, which is provided for by the Party Constitution for effective strategic planning and mobilization as we wait for official campaigns.
The Party equally urges all the supporters, well-wishers and sympathizers to effectively join the crusade and ensure UPC Victory.” Said Arach Oyat Sharon
