Luxurious Emin Pasha Hotel & Spa, reopens to the public, what you need to know about it

By Jumah Kakomo

The Emin Pasha Hotel & Spa, a fusion of luxury and history in the heart of Kampala has reopened to the public. The hotel closed in late 2020 to embark on renovations of existing rooms and building of new facilities that include new accommodation, a meetings and events centre, a health and fitness centre and spa, a new swimming pool and regeneration of the legendary Emin Pasha gardens.

Nestled in 3 acres in the plush Nakasero Hill, the hotel’s unique castle-like architecture combines contemporary luxury with a captivating history that pays homage to the exploration of Uganda. Inspired by the renowned Emin Pasha (real name: Eduard Schnitzer) who was a notable figure in the history of East Africa’s exploration during the late 19th century, the hotel’s design seamlessly weaves together the rich tapestry of Uganda’s past, creating an ambience that reflects the spirit of exploration and discovery.

With an array of thoughtfully designed rooms and suites, the hotel offers a sanctuary of comfort and tranquility for both leisure and business travelers. Guests can indulge in the utmost relaxation at the hotel’s luxurious spa, featuring a range of rejuvenating treatments and therapies in the Moroccan spa.

To cater to the needs of corporate guests, the new Emin Pasha Hotel & Spa provides state-of-the-art conferencing facilities, equipped with the latest technology and supported by a dedicated events team.

Whether for meetings, conferences, or social gatherings, the hotel offers versatile spaces that can be tailored to accommodate various needs.

The culinary experience at the Emin Pasha Hotel & Spa is second to none! The all-day dining restaurant named Hakki Pasha serves a delectable array of international and local cuisine, while the Sir Samuel Baker Fine Dining offers a gastronomic journey featuring exquisite food flavors, a range of select fine wine and impeccable service: the first of its kind in Uganda.

As you explore the hotel, you’ll discover an intriguing collection of artefacts and photographs that pay homage to Uganda’s exploration history. From the legendary expeditions led by Sir Samuel Baker to the cultural heritage of the local communities, The Emin Pasha Hotel & Spa celebrates the rich tapestry of Uganda’s past, inviting guests to immerse themselves in its fascinating stories.

“We are thrilled to open the doors of the Emin Pasha Hotel & Spa and invite guests to experience our unique blend of luxury and history,” said Brian Jjuuko, Director of Sales & Marketing at the Emin Pasha

Hotel & Spa. “We aim to provide an unforgettable stay where guests can embark on a journey through time, appreciating the cultural and historical significance of Uganda while enjoying the highest standards of hospitality.”
