Ugandan musicians Chosen Becky and Chris Evans Kaweesi have arrived in Canada to grace the Annual African Descent Summit 2023. The duo will be performing and showcasing African culture through music, dance and drama for recognition, development and justice.

The summit which brings together all African descents to appreciate their heritage and arts for development will be happening from the 21st – 23rd July, 2023 at Toronto Pavillion 190 Railside Road Toronto, ON M3A 1A3 Canada.

The summit which will have a number of key note speakers including among others: Prof. Verne Ross, Hon. Paul Chiang, Rev. Eddie Jjumba, Racheal Kalaba and Prof. Marieme Lo will be held under the theme: Recognition, justice and development.

Alexander Luyima, the information director at African Descent said that the summit was derived from the experiences and challenges that have always hampered people of African descent to develop their full potential in education, social-economic development and empowerment, curtailed freedoms, a rich history, and heritage that needs to be well understood and attended to through arts, culture conservation, and Heritage in Ontario Canada.
