The Nateete/ Rubaga chief magistrate Adams Byaruhanga has cautioned the prosecution lawyers to desist from dragging the name of the lead pastor of Christian Life Church Jackson Ssenyonga in the case where 9 suspects are accused of allegedly conspiring to falsely accuse Pastor Robert Kayanja of Rubaga Miracle Center of committing unnatural offences and trespass.
The chief Magistrate Byaruhanga said that it’s not appropriate to keep dragging Pastor Ssenyonga’s name into the case yet he is not part of the accused.

While appearing before court, the third prosecution witness, a 20 year old Adrian Ssebaale during cross examination trashed the allegations that Pastor Ssenyonga promised them money to fabricate a video against Pastor Kayanja to tarnish his reputation saying that its instead them who approached pastor Ssenyonga with their ordeal of how the unnatural offences had been committed against them and thus seeking for help from him.
“Pastor Ssenyonga did not know about our scheme at the time we approached him and that’s why he asked for proof and because we wanted money we slaughtered s chicken and collected the blood and used the same to fabricate the video against Kayanja, but we were told that Ssenyonga was not impressed with the video” said Ssebale.
Ssebaale also said he planned the scheme together with Ssentogo, Serugo, Labeeb, Moses Tumwine and Jonathan Nkoyoyo, while the rest joined them at a later stage.
The accused are Peter Serugo, Reagan Ssentogo, Moses Semanobe, Khalifa Labeeb, Alex Wakamala, Martins Kagolo, Jamil Mwanda, Aggrey Kanene and Israel Waswa.
Meanwhile, the same court also granted Wasswa and Mwanda a cash bail of UGX 2 million despite objection by the prosecution on grounds that Waswa was a convict of robbery, who did not deserve it but he was overruled by the magistrate saying that he was innocent until proven guilty in the case before case.
The Magistrate however, cautioned the accused not to interfere with state witness or even speak to the media over the matter, saying it would amount to contempt of court.
The magistrate adjourned the matter until November 10th and December 13, 2023 for further hearing
