Court slaps the four Joan Kagezi murder suspects with terrorism and murder charges

Four suspects linked to the violent and brutal murder of the Late Joan Kagezi, a former Senior Assistant Directorate of Public Prosecution DPP/Head of CMI crimes Department in ODPP, were finally identified and arrested by the Joint Task Team of the CID, ISO, and CT.

The 4 suspects include; Kibuuka John, Masajjage John, Kisekka Dan and Nasur Abdullah who have been on the run and in hiding since the 30.03.2015,  a period over 8 years.

According to police spokesperson SCP Fred Enanga, the details about the murder plot and related conspiracies, will be availed during the prosecution and hearing of the case.

The four were arraigned in court, on Monday, at the Nakawa Chief Magistrate Court, and the charges of Terrorism and Murder read out to them.

“We would like to thank the ODPP for their valuable assistance, in evaluating the evidence gathered and in guiding the investigations.

We would like to join H.E. The President, to commend the work of CID, ISO, CT, ODPP and other stakeholders for pursuing these long-term wanted criminals. As the Joint Security Agencies, we pledge to continue using our full investigative resources, to pursue all those responsible for violent crimes, like this one, and ensure they are brought to book.” Said Enanga
