Man murders wife over denial of conjugal rights

The territorial police in West Nile Region and Ayivu East CPS, have in custody, a one Agunda James, a 48 year old, peasant of Obaru cell, Ombokolo ward, for the murder by assault, of his wife, Chandiru Judith, aged 23, on the night of 1.03.2024, over denial of conjugal rights.

According Police Spokesperson, The facts gathered indicate that the couple has been sharing their marital beds but without sexual affairs, after the victim accused her husband for having extra marital affairs.

“During the night of 1.03.2024, the suspect picked a quarrel with a wife, and she left the bed for him and slept down on another mattress. The angered husband followed and grabbed her, then hit her around the ribs. The victim fell down on the floor and succumbed to the injuries. The suspect went and handed himself over to the police. The scene was documented and the body of the victim examined, and handed over to the relatives for burial.” Said Enanga

“We continue to register gruesome murders in domestic setting, of spouses, especially women/wives by their husbands, over denial of conjugal rights and other extra-marital concerns. We should be reminded that every spouse, partner or lover has a right to life, which has to be respected instead of taking the law in one’s hands.” He added
