NRM register update was a success- SG Todwong

By Jumah Kakomo

The National Resistance Movement NRM Secretary-General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, has declared the just concluded exercise of the party membership register update successful across the country.

The 5-day exercise, which ended yesterday, Sunday, 17th, began on Wednesday, 13th, in all 72,000 villages / branches.

“I have monitored the display and updating of our membership register, and I can confidently declare that it has ended peacefully with a few concerns,” Todwong said.

Todwong also revealed that the updated ‘Yellow Books’ would later undergo a thorough review at zonal centres before data is fed into the digital bank.

In some areas where there was low turnout, Todwong said, “The party leadership shall review the process and offer guidance.”

Commenting about the students issue Hon. Todwong assured the members, especially students currently in school, that there would be another opportunity for them to register in the holidays before “we embark on preparing for internal elections.”

He again thanked the NRM members and the general public for their participation, saying “this implies that NRM is still very popular.”

The NRM National Chairman and President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, launched the register update on February 28, 2024.
