A news rift has emerged within Parliament as a section of NRM parliamentary caucus MPs threaten to confront the Buganda Parliamentary Caucus MP.

This follows Buganda Caucus, chaired by Muwanga Kivumbi, plans to disrupt parliamentary proceedings until Speaker Anita Among apologizes for alleged tribalistic statements made during the Coffee Amendment Bill 2024 debate.
While addressing journalists at parliament, Kibanda North MP Linos Ngompek warned the Buganda Caucus MPs should not think they are more privileged than others, stating that NRM MPs are ready to battle anyone planning to disrupt parliament’s proceedings.
However, Government Chief Whip Denis Hamson Obua cautioned the Buganda Caucus to act within parliamentary rules and engage in meaningful debates.

Obua reaffirmed NRM’s stance on rationalizing the Uganda Coffee Development Authority and other government agencies, pending further guidance from the party’s top leadership.
Similarly on the Kisozi retreat of NRM, the GCW Obua says it will focus on wealth creation and equipping NRM MPs with skills and knowledge of creating wealth in their constituencies.
The retreat is scheduled this Friday 1st November 2024 and it will be lead evidence based tour by Museveni.
