Security Guards Shoot Dead Qatar Based Uganda Chef Ssekajigo

Kawempe police is currently investigating a case of murder by shooting of a Ugandan Chef who works in Qatar. The deceased has been identified as Sharif Ssekajigo aged 28 years who had prepared for a farewell party with colleagues at Twins mall Tula in Kawempe division Kampala district.

It’s alleged that the deceased Ssekajigo Sharif in company of his wife Hellen Amongin with others was irritated by some of the revellers who are in the bar fighting.

The deputy police spokesperson of metropolitan police Luke Owoyesigyire said that, Sharif Ssekajigo sought for intervention from two private security guards where an altercation developed.

It’s alleged that Ssekajigo head butted one of the security guards and on leaving where the guards were, one of the them open fire shooting him in the back where he bleed profusely leading to his death.

The police was called on to the scene where two guards were arrested immediately and there guns were taken from.

The suspects arrested include Alex Akampurira and Clever Nuwahereza attached to Promax security company who are guarding the premises for investigation.

Owoyesigyire said that this incident would have been avoided and their issues sorted piece fully.

He added that at the moment the two guns have been taken to the ballistic laboratory to establish whose gun was used in the shooting.

At the moment the body of the deceased is at city mortuary Mulago for postmortem.

” It has been observed that the deceased Sharif Ssekajigo was supposed to return to Qatar today Monday February 3rd 2025.” Says Owoyesigyire.
