Al Hajji Ojasi Swaibu, Executive Director of the Ojasi Charity Foundation, has donated an ambulance to Iganga Municipality to help transport patients to health centres. This donation, he says, is in direct response to a growing public outcry over the lack of emergency medical transport in the area.

Ojasi, who is also vying for the Iganga Municipality Member of Parliament seat under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party in the 2026 general elections, emphasized his commitment to community service through his charity work. He aims to challenge incumbent MP Peter Panadol.

Through the Ojasi Charity Foundation, he has empowered thousands of people with skills training and startup capital to combat unemployment. “This ambulance will help our people in the two divisions and the wider Iganga district to access health centres. It is part of our broader mission to address issues like poor healthcare, unemployment, illiteracy, and poverty,” Ojasi said.

He also revealed plans to convert the ambulance into a mobile clinic to better respond to health emergencies, especially those affecting women.

Beyond healthcare, Ojasi has been a strong supporter of local sports. As Minister for Sports in the Kigulu Chiefdom, he has sponsored school and community football teams, including the chiefdom’s football club.

“My foundation is committed to responding to the pressing needs of our people in Iganga and the Busoga region,” he added.
