Angry Mob Kills a Police Officer After a Stray Bullet Killed a Civilian

The police in Oyam district have launched an investigation on a murder by shooting and mob action where a police officer was killed by an angry wanainchi (civilian).

The incident happened last evening at Tecik village in Oyam district where three police personnel booked out to Tecik village for an arrest.

The scuffle ensued from there where people became rowdy and one person was shot dead by the police officers.

According to Oyam district police commander SP Mutegeki Job after stray bullet hit one Ojok Nelson Omoding, People now became too aggressive and began chasing the police officers and one PC Naturinda John Bosco ran to the place of the chairman LC 1 of Tecik village who surrendered him to the mob and was beaten to death.

He added that PC Naturinda John Bosco was attached to Ngai police station, together with two other police officers one Ojok Erick and D/C Aguta Robert who is on the run.

Sp  Mutegeki Job rushed to the scene with other police officers and is currently making a search for the missing police officers.

He however adds that the situation at the scene is reported to be calm and LC I for Tecik village  and two others was arrested to help in investigation.

Two bodies were taken to Oyam health center III for postmortem as more investigation and hunt for suspects participated in mob action is underway.
