President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has promoted the Director of Crime Intelligence in the Uganda Police Force, AIGP Brigadier Christopher Damulira, to the rank of Major General.

The promotion was officially announced on Monday.
Gen. Ddamulira was appointed as Director of Crime Intelligence in 2019 by President Museveni, after previously serving as Deputy Director for Counter-Terrorism in the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI), the intelligence wing of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).

At the time of his appointment, Damulira held the rank of Colonel and replaced Senior Commissioner of Police George Amur Chombe.
Following his exceptional performance in the role, President Museveni promoted him to the rank of Brigadier. As Director for Crime Intelligence, Gen. Damulira has played a pivotal role in dismantling criminal gangs in Kampala and across the country.
