The hearing of a case in which nine youths are accused of falsely accusing Pastor Robert Kayanja of forcing them into sodomy resumed on 07th Monday after one of the accused persons Aggrey Kanene appeared before court.
On 2nd last month the hearing of a case was postponed after one of the accused persons Aggrey Kanene failed to appear before court on allegations that he fell sick. The nine persons are Peter Sserugo, Reagan Ssentongo, Khalifa Labeeb, Alex Wakamala, Martins Kagolo, Israel Wasswa, Jamil Mwanda, and Aggrey Kinene

On 2nd of Monday, the Court was expected to hear testimony from a second accused after the previous session in which 24-year-old Martins Kagoro gave an unsworn testimony while accusing pastor Kayanja of luring him into unnatural anal offences by seducing him with empty travel promises and money.
In his testimony in October, Pastor Kayanja told the presiding Judge Adams Byarugaba that the nine individuals falsely accused him of sodomy. He alleged a conspiracy to frame him, linking one of the accused, Israel Wasswa, to Pastor Ssenyonga, a longtime rival.
Pastor Kayanja expressed frustration over the repeated false accusations against him, citing previous cases in 2010 and 2013, where he was falsely accused of sodomy. He noted that in the 2010 case, five pastors Solomon Male, Michael Kyazze, Martin Sempa, Mukalazi, and Deborah Kyomuhendo were found guilty of falsely accusing him but were only sentenced to 100 hours of community service by the Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court.
Pastor Kayanja also referenced the 2013 case where two individuals, Moses Muhanguzi and Ibrahim Nsubuga, falsely accused him of sodomy. He stated that they were handed non-deterrent sentences for attempting to bribe a doctor to conclude that they had been sodomized.

Now yesterday on 7th of Monday, Aggrey Kanene, and Jamil Mwanda gave their testimonies of Défense before Mwanga II court presided over by Judge Adams Byarugaba who both denied charges against them just like Simon Peter in the Bible denied Jesus three times.
The duos denied association with the youth involved in the case despite phone matrix by a qualified police detective showed that there was communication between the boys, Kanene and his boss Pastor Ssenyonga despite Kanene denying association with them
Kanene, 54 yrs a Musoga by tribe said before court that, he is in the court in a surprising way, from the day he appeared and the day that followed all is a surprise to him.
“Before I brought myself to this court, I was in the field on my daily work and my wife called me that some unknown people had come home looking for me. On another day one of my friends called telling me that he had been called by some unknown people but they wanted him to direct them to me which prompted me to consult and instructed my lawyer to get the details and he tried his best, he later discovered that those people were from old Kampala police and only to be told that I had a matter before this court. He advised me to come and attend on a scheduled date which I don’t exactly remember,” Aggrey stated.
According to Kinene, He came to know these young boys, whom he believes are his sons because none of them is the age of his first son, and when he saw them, he wondered why he is linked to them.
Jamil Mwanda, also told court that he only came to know these youths in Old Kampala police station cell when he was accused of theft by Adam Sankara. He says during his dentation, a group of youth later joined him in the cell who told him the reason for their arrests related to Pr. Robert Kayanja and promised to help them
Mwanda identified the suspects as Peter Sserugo, Martins Kagolo, Reagan Ssentongo, among others.
He says when he was released, he commenced to communicate to some of the suspects who by then were out of bars regarding their matter and later informed relevant authorities including “Cohament” and later focused on his work.
According to Jamil, it is against this background on how he was involved in Robert Kayanja’s case.
