Police Increase Cash Reward to Shs 60 Million in Hunt for Mutaaga Murder Suspect

By Robert Segawa

Police have raised the cash reward to Shillings 60 million for any person who provides credible information leading to the arrest of the prime suspect in the brutal murder of David Mutaaga and his wife, Deborah Florence Mutaaga.

The couple was found dead at their residence in Lugonjo, Entebbe Municipality, on the evening of Sunday, July 6, 2025.

While addressing the press at the police headquarters in Naguru today, Police Spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke confirmed that although several individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, with some later released, the prime suspect remains at large.

“We want to come back here and give you the true information when we have finally apprehended the prime suspect. As of now, investigations are still ongoing,” said Rusoke.

He clarified that contrary to media reports published in various dailies last week, the case remains open and under active investigation.

“We assure the public of total confidentiality for anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of the suspect,” Rusoke added.

According to him, the latest developments and increased reward were sanctioned by CID Director Maj. Tom Magambo Rwabudongo, who is said to be working tirelessly to ensure the suspect is brought to justice.

“This case has not been conclusively investigated to warrant closure,” Rusoke emphasized.

Police are urging the public to come forward with any information that could aid in the arrest of the suspect behind the double murder that has shocked the nation.
