Detectives from the Kabalagala Police Division have arrested a 43-year-old man suspected of beheading a security guard on duty at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kansanga, Makindye Division.

The shocking incident occurred on the night of Wednesday, October 29, 2025. The deceased has been identified as Epodoi Moses, a 32-year-old security guard attached to Corporate Security Limited, who was found dead at the church gate early Thursday morning.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased, who was on duty at the time, was attacked and beheaded by a suspect known to some members of the church.
A team of detectives, homicide officers, and scene-of-crime experts visited and processed the scene, recovering several exhibits for forensic analysis.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, the prime suspect, Alimu Caleb, was arrested this morning at Ggaba Landing Site following an intelligence-led operation.
“The suspect has confessed to the murder and is currently guiding investigators to where he hid the victim’s head and the knife used in the crime,” Owoyesigyire said.

The body of the deceased was taken to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination, while investigations continue to establish the motive behind the gruesome act.
“We are still searching for the head and the murder weapon,” Owoyesigyire added, thanking the public for their cooperation and urging continued vigilance in their communities.
