Museveni Announces New Road Projects, Rallies Kamuli Voters to Strengthen NRM Mandate

By Jumah Kakomo and Kabuye Ronald

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Presidential candidate, General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has unveiled several major road projects confirmed for construction in Kamuli District as part of efforts to expand the area’s tarmac road network.

The new projects include the Jinja–Budondo–Mbulamuti–Kamuli Road, the Iganga–Bulopi–Kamuli Road, the Kamuli–Kaliro–Pallisa Road, and an additional 10km tarmac stretch within Kamuli Municipality.
Museveni made the announcement during an NRM presidential campaign rally in the district.

While addressing residents, Museveni urged the people of Kamuli to prioritize wealth creation, encouraging both small- and large-scale farmers to adopt commercial agriculture models that have proven successful in various parts of the country. He assured the electorate of the NRM’s ability to continue steering Uganda toward stability and prosperity.

Museveni emphasized that the NRM has built a strong foundation for national development through politics of unity rather than sectarianism. He appealed to voters to support the continuation of the NRM government and reject what he termed “ideologically disoriented opposition politicians.”

The NRM presidential candidate also pledged to scale up job creation initiatives in commercial agriculture, manufacturing, and the services sector, commending Kamuli residents for embracing the government’s wealth-creation programs. He advised small landholders to adopt intensive farming practices, while larger landowners take on extensive agriculture to maximize productivity.

Museveni further challenged Kamuli voters to question his opponents on their competence and readiness to lead Uganda.

The rally also featured mobilization from senior NRM leaders. First Lady Maama Janet Kataha Museveni urged residents to safeguard the achievements of the NRM by re-electing Museveni and all party flag bearers.

First Deputy Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga highlighted key development priorities for Kamuli and called on voters to fully back the NRM.
Additionally, NRM First National Vice Chairperson Alhaji Moses Kigongo encouraged intensified grassroots mobilisation across the district.
