President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate, has pledged to establish an industrial park in Mbarara and directed district authorities to secure adequate land to host the project. He said the initiative will create more jobs and accelerate wealth creation in the region.

Addressing supporters at the NRM presidential campaign rally at Boma Grounds in Mbarara City, President Museveni urged residents to closely supervise the implementation of free universal education as he plans wider education reforms in his next term.

Museveni also confirmed several new tarmac road projects for Mbarara District and Mbarara City. These include the Bwizibwera–Nsiika–Nyakashaka–Nyakabirizi Road, the Biharwe–Rwansinga–Karuhanziga Road, and the Rwentama–Bwizibwera Road. He further highlighted additional roads earmarked for improvement and pointed to several first-class tarmac roads already completed under the NRM government.

The NRM presidential candidate assured the electorate of continued peace and stability, anchored in unity and objective politics. He emphasized the NRM’s wealth-creation strategy, describing it as a district-based approach aimed at transforming household incomes. Museveni encouraged the people of Mbarara to remain committed to the government’s wealth-creation interventions.

He guided both rural and urban communities on suitable income-generating projects and shared practical examples for commercial skills development and wealth creation.

Meanwhile, First Lady Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni called on the people of Mbarara District and Mbarara City to deliver a 99% vote for President Museveni through intensive house-to-house mobilization. She also urged voters to turn up in full on election day.
