Social media has been awash with the insensitive statement made by the Busoga Kingdom Tourism minister Hellen Namutamba alleging that she doesn’t know Uganda’s trending musician Acidic Vokoz who was in August last year appointed Busoga tourism and Heritage ambassador.
In an interview with Busoga One radio, Namutamba surprised the kingdom and the country when she said she doesn’t know Acidic Vokoz yet she was in charge of the kingdom tourism ministry and she personally announced the appointment of Acidic Vokoz as the tourism ambassador before his official unveiling by Kyabazinga of Busoga Kingdom William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV and the 1st Deputy Prime Minister Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga in August 2023 during the Kagulu Rock challenge in Buyende district.

Reliable information indicate that the fallout between Namutamba and Acidic Vokoz management led by David Sembera alias Selecta Rizzon was as a result of complaining over last-minute invitations to kingdom events and the deliberate refusal to facilitate the Busoga artists yet others who are not Basoga are facilitated.
It is also said that Namutamba was not happy with Acidic Vokoz naming his maiden Concert which is set for 30th August 2024 at Lugogo Cricket Oval, Kampala ”Ndi Musoga Concert” which happens to be his song that actually landed him the appointment of Busoga Tourism and Heritage ambassador thus the minister’s effort to fight the concert.
The Busoga Tourism Ambassador Namutamba is also on record making sectarian statements rallying Basoga to shun and isolate both artists who are not Basoga and the Basoga artists who don’t sing in Lusoga.
The two incidents have casted Minister Namutamba in Bad light with most of the Basoga and the non Basoga criticizing her actions and words saying it only derails Busoga Kingdom backwards
