President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni the commander in chief of the armed forces has appointed General Wilson Mbasu Mbadi as the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) on Thursday.
The former president Museveni body guard, General Mbadi who has also been the deputy CDF and on the rank of Lt.Gen. has also been elevated to the rank of the General.
In the same reshuffle Lt. Gen. Peter Elwelu who has been the Chief of Land Force will deputize gen. Mbadi, while the first son Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba who has been commander of the Special Forces command replaces Elwelu has the chief land forces and will be deputized by Maj. Gen. Sam Okiding.
The land forces chief of staff Maj. Gen. Leopold Kyanda has been appointed Joint Chief of staff replacing Maj. Gen. Joseph Musanyufu has been appointed civil services, Brig. Gen. Bob Ogik replaces Kyanda. Brig. Daniel Kakono is appointed commander field artillery division.

Charles Angina posted to Foreign affairs, Maj. Gen. Sam Kavuma posted to Operation Wealth Creation as 21/C, Maj. Gen. Kasura Kyamukama deployed in the civil service and Brig. Gen Charles Kisembo commandant Kyankwanzi political school
It should be recalled that the former CDF Gen. David Muhoozi was appointed the state minister for internal affairs.
