Three Dead in Mbuya Shooting Spree After Security Guard Turns Gun on Colleagues

Residents of Mbuya in Nakuwa division  were left in fear following a shooting incident that left three people dead including the suspected shooter.

The shooting spree follows the misunderstanding between Mwawa Richard working as a security guard  in the mentioned company above and his bosses who asked him to hand over the gun and leave the premises which annoyed him.

The incident occurred this morning  at around 9:00 AM, at the offices of Ultimate Security Company located in Mbuya, Bugolobi Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala District.

The deceased have been identified as, 

• Noella Zella – Assistant Human Resource Officer at Ultimate Security Company

• Bwampata Swalez working as  Armory Officer and Mwawa Richard, a Suspect and security guard with Ultimate Security Company (Deceased).

It is alleged that the suspect, Mwaawa Richard, entered the company premises and shot Noella Zella before turning the weapon on Bwampata Swalez. 

Luke Owoyesigyire Kampala metropolitan deputy police spokesperson said  police officers, acting on information received about the active shooting responded, swiftly engaged the suspect and fatally wounded him in the process of subduing the threat.

All three bodies have been conveyed to City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem examinations and the firearm suspected to have been used in the incident has been recovered and has been exhibited for further forensic analysis.

More Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing, and further details will be communicated as soon as they are available.

“We urge members of the public to remain calm and allow the police to carry out a thorough investigation into this unfortunate event.” Said Owoyesigyire.
