On Friday afternoon the president for Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and also its Presidential flag bearer Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat sought Buganda blessings by paying a courtesy visit to the Kingdom’s headquarters at Bulange Mengo and held a meeting with its premier Owekitibwa Charles Peter Mayiga.
The meeting was also attended by his delegation which included the party chairperson Owek Amb Wasswa Birigwa, Lubaga division mayor Owek Joyce Ssebugwawo, Owek Mukalazi Kibuka, Owek Robinson Kasozi, Mr Kyambadde Wilberforce, Hon Michael Kabaziguluka, Dr Stellah Nyanzi and among other FDC leaders and flag bearers.
The delegation also bought Kabaka’s birthday run kits worth 4 Million Shillings and Buganda Certificate for 2 Million Shillings.

In his speech Eng. Amuriat pledged to work with the kingdom to uplift the welfare of the people of Buganda before handing his Manifesto to the Katikiro.
Meanwhile, Katikiro Mayiga applauded the FDC delegation for the support rendered to the kingdom before rallying the people of Buganda and Uganda to interest themselves in the politics of the country since Buganda kingdom has a big stake in it.
He also cautioned politicians against turning their backs against the kingdom’s needs after taking power.
He further added that as Buganda they welcome every one as long as they respect the cultural norms and values of the kingdom.
