Kamuli general hospital closes after 24 health workers tested positive for COVID 19

The Kamuli district health officer, Fredrick Duuku has announced the suspension of medical services at Kamuli general hospital for a period of two weeks due to over increased cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

According to Duuku 24 health workers have tested positive for COVID-19 in a period of two weeks in addition to the 25 community cases registered in the month of November only thus a need for tougher measures to avoid further spread.

He however said critical units which include maternity ward and ART clinic will remain operational under strict adherence to the standard operating procedures.

Now  patients have been advised to seek medication from lower health facilities or Jinja regional referral hospital.
