In his final rally of the campaign trail in Acholi sub-region, held at Paul Lokech Memorial Grounds in Agago district, NRM Presidential Candidate General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni outlined bold plans to combat insecurity, boost infrastructure, and drive economic development for the district.

Addressing issues of cattle rustling, Museveni pledged to deploy advanced military tactics to dismantle criminal gangs and protect local communities. He also reiterated his commitment to constructing a 100km electric fence around Kidepo National Park to mitigate human-wildlife conflict in Agago.

Further highlighting his government’s achievements, Museveni confirmed plans to upgrade critical roads, including the Gulu-Awere-Kona-Kilak-Patonga-Abim and Puranga-AcholiBur roads, to improve connectivity between Agago, Acholi, and Karamoja sub-regions. He also emphasized the need for careful management of public funds to ensure long-term development.

In education, Museveni assured that the government would enforce policies for more equitable school distribution across the district, while reinforcing the importance of free universal education. He also spoke about plans to expand healthcare infrastructure, including elevating Patonga Health Center 4 to a district general hospital.

Museveni’s campaign wrapped up with a strong call for unity, urging the people of Agago to emulate the success stories of the Parish Development Model (PDM) and continue pursuing sustainable growth.
