The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Presidential candidate, General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has commissioned mobilisation teams to coordinate NRM manifesto sensitisation efforts at the parish level in all districts across the country.
While presiding over the event at the Mayuge District State Lodge, President Museveni launched the teams headed by NRM district chairpersons. These leaders are tasked with ensuring that the NRM ideology effectively reaches parish-level leaders and, ultimately, the electorate in their respective villages and workplaces.

General Museveni explained that the NRM parish mobilisation strategy will bring together 63 leaders from each village, including 30 elected NRM structure members, LC1 executives, and representatives of youth and women councils. Their role will be to advance the NRM ideology throughout their communities. He highlighted this strategy while addressing district chairpersons and mobilisation teams at the Mayuge State Lodge.
The NRM Presidential candidate also shared the projected multiplier effect of this strategy. If each of the 63 village leaders successfully mobilises at least three new supporters across Uganda’s 72,000 villages, the party would significantly expand its support base.
General Museveni further instructed the newly commissioned mobilisation teams to clearly articulate to the electorate the achievements of the NRM government. These include the restoration of peace and security, development initiatives, wealth creation, job opportunities, expanded markets, and progress in regional integration.

He also emphasised the need for prioritisation in national planning, noting that thoughtful planning is essential for effective service delivery.
NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong elaborated on the roles and composition of the commissioned teams. He cautioned the various warring factions within the party about the negative impact their internal conflicts could have on the NRM’s victory and urged them to cease such disputes.
Todwong also briefed party leaders on the progress of the NRM Presidential campaign trail and detailed the mobilisation plan as guided by the NRM National Chairman and Presidential candidate, General Museveni.
The NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Region, Calvin Echodu, praised party leaders for the successful progress of the campaign trail, describing the journey so far as encouraging.
During the ceremony, district chairpersons received the NRM manifesto handbook from the National Chairman and Presidential candidate. The handbook will serve as the key reference guide for the parish-level manifesto mobilisation strategy.
