3,514 Students to Graduate at Kampala University

A total of 3,514 students have fulfilled all the requirements for graduation at Kampala University’s main campus in Ggaba.

Speaking at a press conference held at the campus, the Vice Chancellor and founder, Prof. Badru Kateregga, said this will be the university’s 23rd graduation ceremony since its establishment in 1998. The ceremony is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Thursday, April 23, starting at 8:00 a.m.

The event will be presided over by the University Chancellor, Hon. Prof. George Mondo Kagonyera, and will be graced by the Chief Guest, Prof. Maggie Kigozi.

Prof. Kateregga revealed that the 3,514 graduands will be awarded various academic qualifications. Of these, 1,812 are female and 1,702 are male. He added that 242 of the graduands are nurses from the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. The graduands also include international students from countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan, and beyond.

He urged the government to take deliberate steps to identify, nurture, and invest in innovations developed by graduates.

In the same vein, Prof. Kateregga announced that the university will also mark the 7th graduation ceremony of the Kampala University School of Nursing and Health Sciences during the event.

Additionally, the university will celebrate 12 alumni who were recently elected to Parliament and are yet to be sworn in.
