Police Hunt Four Suspects Over Murder of SC Villa Jogoo Captain Owori David

By Robert Segawa

Katwe Police Division has launched a manhunt for four unidentified assailants who attacked and fatally injured SC Villa Jogoo captain Owori David, also known as “Colgate.”

The deceased, identified as Owori David, 28, was a resident of Dubai Zone in Makindye Division, Kampala District.

According to police, the incident occurred on August 4, 2026, at an unspecified time along Nalinya–Mpologoma Road in Dubai Zone, Makindye II Parish. It is alleged that four attackers, riding on two motorcycles, assaulted Owori while he was walking before fleeing the scene.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala said the victim was found unconscious by passers-by, who rushed him to Sir Albert Cook Hospital in Makindye for treatment. At around 2:00 a.m., he was referred to Case Clinic Hospital along Buganda Road for specialized medical care, where he was later pronounced dead.

Eyewitnesses, whose identities have been withheld, told police that the attackers stole the victim’s mobile phone and a bag before escaping on their motorcycles to an unknown destination.

Police said the crime scene has been documented and processed, with detectives collecting and preserving all relevant evidence to support ongoing investigations.

Kawala said investigations are underway to establish the motive behind the attack and identify those responsible.

“We call upon anyone with information that could help identify or locate the suspects to report to the nearest police station so that those responsible can be arrested and brought to justice,” Kawala said.
