The Ruparelia Group has completed a major expansion of Kabira Country Club in Kampala, unveiling a new 360-apartment hotel covering approximately 110,000 square metres of built-up space.
The development significantly expands the club’s accommodation and hospitality offering and is expected to elevate Kabira Country Club’s services to a five-star standard.
According to the Ruparelia Group, the project was undertaken under the leadership of businessman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia and is designed to set a higher benchmark for luxury, comfort and service in Kampala’s hospitality sector.
“Every detail has been meticulously crafted to ensure that every guest experiences nothing less than perfection,” the group said in an update, adding that the expansion is also intended to enhance the experience of club members.
Located in Bukoto, on the outskirts of Kampala’s central business district, the new apartment hotel forms part of the Ruparelia Group’s portfolio of real estate and hospitality investments.
The group has more than 300 properties across Kampala and other major towns, including Mukono, Jinja, Mbale and Mbarara. It is also among Uganda’s major private investors in commercial real estate.
A boutique hospitality destination
Kabira Country Club is positioned as one of Kampala’s leading boutique hospitality destinations, combining accommodation, recreation, dining, health and fitness facilities.
The name Kabira, meaning “Little Forest” in a local Bantu dialect, reflects the club’s green surroundings and tropical setting, which provide a contrast to the busy urban environment.
The club offers renovated accommodation designed around comfort and modern amenities, providing options ranging from single rooms to three-bedroom duplex penthouses.
The rooms feature amenities such as air conditioning, satellite television and other modern facilities, catering to both individual travellers and groups.
Dining and leisure
Guests can enjoy food and drinks at The Pub, a multi-cuisine restaurant and bar, while Bake-O-Logy caters to those looking for pastries, cakes and other sweet treats.
The club also offers a broad range of recreational and fitness facilities through its health club.
These include a half Olympic-sized swimming pool, a children’s pool, gym, tennis courts, basketball facilities, squash courts and a football pitch.
Meetings, weddings and conventions
Kabira Country Club also provides venues for business meetings, weddings, conferences and other social functions.
Its event facilities are supported by high-speed internet, projectors, video-conferencing equipment, public-address systems and photocopying and printing services.

What you need to know
The expansion comes against the backdrop of the Ruparelia Group’s broader real estate development activities in Uganda.
Separately, in a ruling delivered on April 3, Acting Judge Susan Odongo held that FBW (U) Limited, together with architects Nigel J. Tilling and Paul Moores, fundamentally breached their contractual and professional obligations to Meera Investments Ltd.
The legal dispute is separate from the hospitality services offered by Kabira Country Club.
