Police have arrested 16 suspects and recovered a cow believed to have been stolen, along with a motorcycle suspected to have been used in robbery activities, during a series of operations in Kasangati Division, Wakiso District.

The operations were conducted in Obama Zone, Kibaijo and Muwula Zone in Nalusuga Parish, as well as areas of Kiteezi, targeting individuals suspected of involvement in cattle theft, robbery and other criminal activities.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, a Toyota Ipsum, registration number UAN 223C, was recovered and impounded after it was allegedly found transporting a suspected stolen cow.

Owoyesigyire identified the suspect linked to the vehicle as Kinobe Vincent, alias Muntasaava, who reportedly escaped during the operation. Police are pursuing him to face the relevant charges.

In a related development, officers conducting operations in Obama Zone, Kiteezi, recovered a motorcycle suspected to have been used in robbery activities. One suspect was arrested in connection with the incident.

Owoyesigyire said police would continue conducting targeted operations to identify and apprehend individuals suspected of engaging in criminal activities, particularly as the festive season approaches.

“Kampala Metropolitan Police will continue conducting targeted operations to identify and apprehend individuals involved in criminal activities, particularly as the festive season approaches,” he said.

He urged members of the public to remain vigilant, cooperate with police and promptly report suspicious activities within their communities.

Owoyesigyire also encouraged residents to work with security agencies to identify crime hotspots and strengthen public trust in the fight against crime.
