Territorial police in mubende have registered a single fatal accident involving vehicle UAY 196 fuso white in colour that was carrying market vendors.
According to the Wamala region police spokesperson Asp Racheal Kawala, the motor vehicle that was overloaded with market vendors and their luggage ,lost control ,overturned and rammed into a building killing 4 people and injuring 18. 3 died on spot while another died in mubende hospital.
This happened at 10:00pm on 2/03/2022 at madudu junction along mubende _kakumiro highway in mubende district.
The deceased are three females and one Male and these have been identified as Nakibuka a female adult, Katushabe Yasinta a female aged 45 yrs, Harriet female adult and Ssembatya male adult.
The injured have been identified as: Mubulizi kelebu, Ssemakula Alice, Kasibante Emmanuel, Wasswa kenneth, Zziwa Ronald, Ssendegeya poisiano, Jonathan,Maale Richard, Bale Francis, Kasumba vincent, Kalijira Nakyanzi, Safina, Nampijja Grace, Nfitikiza Habibu, Steven Nzeimana, Lukwago Willy, Nangozi Realty and Musanagowoza Supesioza .
Victims have been rushed to Mubende hospital for medical attention.
Bodies of the deceased have been taken to mubende hospital mortuary pending postmortem.
Kawala says the Driver is on run however efforts to have him arrested are on before cautioning drivers against overloading since it comes with several risks .
