By Kabuye Ronald

The presiding bishop for the Evangelical Orthodox Church (EOC) in Uganda Jacinto Kibuuka has urged government to work upon the insecurity in the country and find an appropriate solution to the skyrocketing commodity prices.

Bishop Kibuuka made the remarks while leading the way of the cross healing and deliverance prayers at Mamre International Prayer Center in Namugongo, Janda, Wakiso district.

Bishop Kibuuka cited out the insecurity in Karamoja and the panga wielding gangs terrorizing Kampala and Wakiso thus calling upon the security agencies to prevail over so that Ugandans can live a more secure and peaceful life.

On the skyrocketing commodity prices in the country, bishop Kibuuka reiterated his earlier advice to government to reduce on the taxes so that the manufacturers can produce more.

“Our hearts are so worried because of the high commodity prices. It’s scaring, heartbreaking and disturbing since most of those commodities are produced in the country and people are just recovering from the Covid 19 pandemic.

We forewarned government to reduce on the taxes so that we may have more production. However we request government to use all the means it has to bring down the costs of commodities in the country.” Said Bishop Kibuuka

Bishop Kibuuka who wished everyone happy Easter holidays, encouraged all Ugandans to keep their hope in God since He never lies.

On the essence of the way of the way of the cross, Bishop Kibuuka said that it is a symbol of remembrance, Perpetuation, victory and hope which has power to deliver people from the satanic power and undertakings.
